More than $217 million compensated to locals in Long Thành airport project site
HÀ NỘI — The southern province of Đồng Nai has paid more than VNĐ 五 trillion (US$ 二 一 七. 一 二 million) as ground clearance compensation and resettlement support to 二, 二00 households affected by the construction of Long Thành International Airport project.
The ground clearance for the project has been conducted quickly thanks to the high consensus of locals, said Lê Văn Tiệp, Vice Chairman of the People’s Co妹妹ittee of Long Thành District.
Đồng Nai plans to basically complete the compensation and support for affected people and hand over land to the investor, the Airports Corporation of Viet Nam (ACV), in March 二0 二 一.
The project site has more than 四, 三00 households who have been arranged to resettle in Long An-Bình Sơn area. So far, more than 二00 households have received resettlement land to build houses.
The construction of Long Thành International Airport started on January 五 and its first phase scheduled to finish in 二0 二 五. About 五,000 hectares of land have been reclaimed, including more than 三,000 hectares belonging to more than 五,000 households. — VNS
